Overseas Filipino workers who are now in Metro Manila or returning OFWs looking to shift into digital work may want to check a new free training opportunity from the Department of Information and Communications Technology.
DICT, through its SPARK Program and in partnership with Aboitiz Foundation and BELART, is now accepting applications for VA Services Level III Training in the National Capital Region.
The program offers 75 scholarship slots and will run in three training batches.
It also includes on-the-job training with industry partners, which may help participants gain added experience after the training.
A digital-work option for OFWs
For many OFWs, virtual assistance can be an attractive work path because it may open doors to remote or flexible jobs.
This DICT program is meant for people who want to build digital skills and prepare for work in the online economy.
OFWs are listed among the program’s preferred priority sectors, along with women, solo parents, out-of-school youth, and persons with disabilities.
Still, applicants must meet all qualifications and pass the screening process.
Who may apply
Applicants must:
- Be an NCR resident
- Be 18 years old and above
- Have access to a laptop or desktop
- Have stable internet
- Be willing to complete the training and OJT
- Be interested in working in the digital economy
- Have TESDA BSRS registration
This means OFWs who are currently based in NCR and meet these conditions may apply.
Important dates to remember
The application and screening period will run from September 25 to October 7, 2026.
Training is set to start on October 14, 2026.
The training will follow a hybrid modality.
How the application works
The process includes four main steps:
- Submit the application and required information
- Take the English and typing tests and complete or verify TESDA BSRS registration
- Join the virtual interview and final selection
- Qualified applicants will be endorsed for training
Applicants who pass the English and typing tests will receive an email with instructions for the next stage.
Because of this, applicants should use an active email address and regularly check their inbox, including spam or junk folders.
What OFWs should do now
OFWs in NCR who want to explore virtual work should review the requirements early and apply within the deadline.
