Philippines – Police arrested a 36-year-old woman wanted on 10 separate warrants in Angeles City, Pampanga, closing in on her at an ordinary laundry shop where she had been staying out of sight.
According to an official statement from the Philippine National Police (PNP), the woman was taken into custody on September 29, 2026, along Sarmiento Street in Barangay Malabanias. The operation was led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Angeles City Field Unit, with help from Angeles City Police Office Police Station 4 and the Sto. Tomas Municipal Police Station.
The Cases Behind the Warrants
The 10 warrants came from courts spread across three areas — Metro Manila, Laguna, and Cavite. Each court had already set the applicable bail for the charges tied to her name.
The cases she faces include:
- Qualified Trafficking in Persons
- Illegal Recruitment
- Estafa
- Violations of the Securities Regulation Code
Investigators say the complaints stemmed from alleged recruitment and trafficking activities, including the recruitment of people for supposed massage-therapy work. Those complaints were later filed in court, which then issued the warrants.
How the Arrest Came Together
Tracking someone wanted by multiple courts takes patience. Police said officers spent time gathering information, verifying details, and coordinating across units before they could confirm where the woman was and move in.
Once arrested, she was informed of the reason for her arrest and reminded of her constitutional rights. Officers then brought her to the CIDG Angeles City Field Unit for documentation, while the warrants are prepared for return to the courts that issued them.
What the PNP Chief Said
PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. pointed to the groundwork that made the arrest possible.
“Ten warrants mean a lot of work behind the scenes. Our people had to verify the information, locate the person, coordinate with the concerned units, and make sure the warrants were properly served. Ito ang gusto nating makita—police work that is deliberate, coordinated, and respectful of the law and the rights of the person involved,” he said.
Part of a Wider Push
The operation falls under the PNP’s Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO), part of the force’s Focused Agenda. It supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s drive for public safety and the rule of law.
The PNP urged the public to report information on wanted persons through proper channels and leave the arrests to authorities.
