OFW From UAE Seeks Justice for Wife and Daughter Killed in Possible Robbery

An OFW father and husband comes home to the Philippines devastated because of the tragic death of his wife and his seven year old daughter who were found murdered inside their home in Cavite.

Marlon Gamos headed straight from NAIA to the morgue last Dec 12 to see her slain wife and daughter. According to the autopsy, Ruby Gamos, 34, died because of a traumatic head injury while his daughter Shaniah Nicole, 7, died because of suffocation.

Initial investigations revealed that the possible motive could be robbery as there were many valuable items that were reported missing from the house; jewelry, gadgets, television set and their car. The car was later found in front of the Imus Cavite cemetery. Ruby’s mother, Virginia Navarro, speculated that her daughter could have known the killer, citing that “Kung ibang tao ang pumatay niyan, ikakalat ‘yan. Bakit inayos pa doon sa kaha, pinagdikit ‘yong mag-ina?” Virginia told ABS CBN news.

This also supports the investigator’s findings that there were no sign of forced entry in the scene and that the house is situated near the subdivision’s security guard. With the tight security protocol in the subdivision, it is very possible that the killer knows the victim and was allowed entry to the house. The possibility that the family knows the killer is both horrendous and heartbreaking.

According to Marlon, he last spoke to his wife Thursday last week when they exchanged messages. He got worried when he did not hear anything from his wife the following day and she did not go online Friday night. The distraught husband reached out to his relatives to check on his wife and his daughter. It was only on Monday morning when, after his sister in law together with the subdivision security guard, forced to open the house, that they learned of the horrifying truth.

Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has been ordered to conduct a thorough investigation in this tragic double-murder case. Justice Secretary Vitalino Aguirre II has ordered the NBI to send a progress update regularly to his office.

The grieving father and husband appeals to President Duterte to help him get justice for the tragic death of his wife and daughter.
