Saudi Arabia Needs 1,000 Pinoy Nurses

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) announced last Monday (Nov 5) that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has posted a job order for at least 1,000 specialty nurses,whereas Abu Dhabi is in need of 150 emergency medical technicians, as shared in a report by GMA News Online.

According to the report, the POEA disclosed that the recruitment for the needed positions in the KSA and the UAE is under a government-to-government scheme, which will ensure the rights and welfare of successful Filipino applicants.

In addition to the job security and welfare of the workers, qualified applicants for the said posts will NOT be required to pay a placement fee.

According to POEA Deputy Administrator Ventura Plan, the 1,000 female nurses needed in the KSA will be offered paid annual vacation with free round-trip economy ticket, on top of the free food and accommodation.

As for the monthly salary, qualified nurses will receive PHP 58,000, which could still be increased on a yearly basis.

Based on the job order received by the POEA, the eligible applicants must:

  • Be registered nurses;
  • Have been in the practice for at least two (2) years;
  • Have solid training and work experience in the operating room and/or the emergency room, among others.

The deadline for the submission of application and requirements will be on November 9 for regional offices, and November 16 for the main POEA office.

Meanwhile, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jobstreet to help jobseekers find local employment.
