Incentives are being offered by the Tourism Department to overseas Filipino workers and balikbayans, who can bring their loved ones to the Philippines. According to Christina Garcia Frasco, the move is part of the Department of Tourism‘s efforts to boost the country’s tourism industry.
This program is ideal for Filipinos who will be traveling home for the holidays. It allows them to bring along their friends and relatives who are also planning on visiting the Philippines.
DOT’s ‘Bisita, Be My Guest’ Program to Offer Rewards to OFWs and Balikbayans who bring friends back to the Philippines
According to Frasco, the “Bisita, Be My Guest” campaign is not the new tourism slogan the organization is promoting, as reported by the Manila Bulletin.
She noted that the campaign is actually a guest incentive program that’s aimed at attracting more people to the Philippines.
She noted that the organization will be giving away cash incentives to overseas Filipino workers and returning Filipinos who bring at least one additional person with them when they go back to the country.
According to Frasco, this campaign could help boost the number of tourists and travelers coming to the country. It’s also aimed at helping overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) bring their relatives and friends back to the Philippines.
The new tourism slogan, which is called “Bisita, Be My Guest,” is currently being reviewed to see if it can reflect the country’s rich cultural identity.
In response to the criticisms about the new campaign, Frasco noted that she values the opinions of the people who are involved in the tourism industry. She also said that she is learning from their feedback.
