The Embassy of Hungary has announced that it has extended the agreement between Hungary and the Philippines to make it possible for 35 new talented Filipino students to study for free in Hungary each year.

Based on the bilateral agreement between Hungary and the Philippines, the former will provide the opportunity for 35 new students from the Philippines to study for free in one of the 30 participating Hungarian universities’ full degree programs.

Available Scholarship Grants to Filipinos Who Wish to Study in Hungary Extended

According to the announcement released by the Embassy of Hungary, the deadline for applications is on Jan. 16, the Manila Bulletin reported.

What Scholarships Are Available?

Interested applicants may apply for a full degree undergraduate program (BA/BSc – two to four years) and graduate programs (MS/MSc – 1.5 to two years). The main fields on offer are the following:

  • agriculture and sustainable development,
  • medicine,
  • water management,
  • engineering and hydrology,
  • architecture and protection of natural heritage,
  • natural sciences and environmental studies, as well as
  • Full-degree doctoral programs (Ph.D., DLA – four years) in any academic field.

Moreover, the bilateral agreement designates CHED as the official selection authority for Stipendium scholarship students in the Philippines. Aside from applying online to the chosen Hungarian university, you also have to submit your documents to the CHED International Affairs Staff (IAS) through chedstipendium@gmail.com on or before Jan. 20.

Those who qualify in any of the available scholarship offers will be invited to a panel interview by the CHED scholarship screening committee (SCC), which is composed of representatives from the CHED, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Economic Development Authority, and the University of the Philippines. The schedule of the panel interview is in February.
