Step-by-Step Guide on How to Fund Your MP2 Savings Account Online using a Debit Card or Credit Card
Paying for our purchases and transactions online is very important because of the convenience this offers. However, just because it is convenient doesn’t mean that it’s free of charge. To fund your MP2 savings account, a small convenience fee of 1.75% for each transaction you will make will be charged to your debit/credit card.
But compared to the earnings and benefits you will get from having this type of savings account, which, if you don’t know, offers at least 100x higher than the interest rates you can earn from keeping a savings account in any bank in the Philippines right now. Awesome, right?
Now, to start funding your MP2 savings account, you will need the following:
- your MP2 savings account number (this is different from the MID or P1 number)
- your Visa/MasterCard debit/credit card

- a working PC or laptop with a stable internet connection.
STEP 1: Go to the Pag-IBIG website at pagibigfund.gov.ph

Convenience Transaction Fee – 1.75% of the Total Paid Amount
Just a reminder to those who will make a Pag-IBIG payment transaction online that there is a transaction fee worth 1.75 percent of the total amount you will contribute. So if you are going to make a big deposit, personally, we would advise to find other means to make a deposit.
One way to make a contribution for one-time big-time deposits is maybe when you go back to the Philippines for a vacation) or have an authorized representative make a payment on your behalf. Because for example, if you deposit an amount of PHP 50,000, 1.75% of it is PHP 875.00. This is already a big amount as transaction fee.
