A 49-year-old Filipina in Canada was reportedly murdered and then burned by two Filipinos, one of which was a minor.

The charred body of the Filipina, identified as Maria Cecilia Loreto was discovered around 1:57 am on March 18, after she was reported missing by her relatives.

Loreto, an immigrant from the Philippines, went missing on March 17. Her body was later found by the police the next day at a park in Burnaby, B.C., GMA News Online reported.
Burnaby police nabbed the suspects, Carlo Tobia, 21, and a 15-year-old unnamed accomplice.
The two were convicted of first-degree murder and indignity to human remains.
Canadian media reported that the victim and the suspects knew each other.
In line with this, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) spokesperson Sergeant Frank Jang confirmed this but did not disclose the motive behind the killing due to the sensitivity of the matter.
Meanwhile, the Filipino community in Burnaby mourns the death and arrest of the victims.
Loreto, who was an active member of the local Filipino community, worked at a grocery store in Vancouver.
