Requirements when renewing your passport

Set an Online Appointment
In this pandemic, the appointment system of the Embassy makes processing your document safer and faster. With this system, the Embassy will be able to control the number of applicants who will show up per day. Applicants who availed of Dual Citizenship under R.A. 9225:
- Photocopy of Identification Certificate (IC) of Retention or Re-acquisition issued by the Philippine Embassy or Bureau of Immigration

Applicants who elected Philippine Citizenship:

Applicants who have been Naturalized:

In case the applicant is an illegitimate child and mother is deceased/absent, and father is unknown
- Personal appearance of minor applicant and adult guardian
- Photocopy of PSA Birth Certificate or PSA Report of Birth (ROB) of Child
- Passport or valid government-issued ID of an adult guardian
- Affidavit of Guardianship
If the minor applicant is undergoing or has undergone the process of domestic adoption
- Personal appearance of minor applicant and adoptive parent/s
- Original PSA Birth Certificate or Report of Birth (ROB) duly authenticated by DFA (with red ribbon)
- Valid passport or valid government-issued ID of adoptive parent/s
- Court Decree of Adoption
- Suppose an applicant is not accompanied by an adoptive parent/s during the application process. In that case, the applicant must submit a Special Power of Attorney (SPA) executed by the adoptive parent/s designating the minor’s companion to assist in the application process. The SPA must be authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/Consulate if completed abroad.
- If the applicant is not traveling with adoptive parent/s, the applicant must submit an Affidavit of Support and Consent authenticated by the Philippine Embassy/Consulate if executed abroad.
If the minor applicant is undergoing or has undergone the process of foreign adoption / Inter-Country Adoption Board (ICAB) adoption process
- Personal appearance of minor applicant and ICAB representative

- Placement of Authority issued by ICAB

If the applicant is a foundling NOT for adoption

Passport renewals would take about 6 to 8 weeks from the date of appointment. Your new passport will only be released to you or your representative with the receipt, your old passport that will be needed for cancellation, an authorization from the passport applicant, and a photocopy of an identification card or passport of the authorized representative. If the passport remains unclaimed until six months from the day of issuance, it shall be canceled.
For minor applicants, the passport must be claimed by either of his/her parents. If the child is illegitimate, only the mother may claim the said document.
