A current count of 14 people were killed and 76 were wounded in two blasts in Jolo, Sulu, Philippines on Monday – 24th August 2020.
According to officials, a bomb exploded at 11:54am in Paradise Food Shop on Serrantes St., Barangay Walled City in Jolo, where a military truck was parked.
Around 12:57 pm (an hour later), another explosion took place in Goteckleng Building, a hundred meters away from the first blast.
The bomb killed 7 soldiers, 6 civilians, and the suicide bomber.
Over 48 civilians, 19 military soldiers, and 9 policemen were wounded, as per report from the Western Mindanao authorities.
Reports mention that a motorcycle that was loaded with an improvised explosive device went off near a military truck.
No reports on the nationality of suicide bomber.
