A Filipina household worker in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is reportedly missing for three weeks now. The Filipina’s family reported the matter to authorities to request help regarding her situation in the Middle East.
According to the family, the domestic helper, identified as Bernadeth Navarro, has been missing for three weeks after she complained to them about her poor work situation in the kingdom.

In an exclusive interview with GMA News, Bernadeth’s husband, Josue, said that he last spoke with his wife on November 27. She told him that her salary has long been delayed and was not being fed by her employer.
After that call, Bernadeth could no longer be reached by her family, even via online messaging.
“Sabi ng kasama, pinahuli na siya ng amo, pinakulong. Blinock ako ng kasama niya kasi baka raw masabit pa raw doon siya (One of her co-workers said that she [Bernadeth] had been arrested by the police as ordered by her employers. I have also been blocked by her co-worker because they’re afraid that they might also get involved in the matter),” Josue shared.
“Sa akin lang, baka kinulong lang ‘yun sa bahay nila tapos hindi pinakain (She could’ve only been locked up at home and not being fed by her employers),” he added.
Meanwhile, Bernadeth’s agency had not made any move to assist the Filipina regarding her situation, noting that her contract had already lapsed.
In line with this, the family is seeking the help of the Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA).
The Philippine embassy has vowed to help the family look for the whereabouts of the Filipina.
